Pose of the Month

Each month we take apart a common yoga pose, breaking it down into easy steps before stretching ourselves with cool variations and partner poses. Come back each month to see the new pose of the month, and each week to see each session broken down.

April - Tree Pose

My favourite pose of the moment is tree pose. It feels amazing when you control the wobbles and finally find your balance! This month we’re going to take this pose apart so that you can find ways to help you balance in week 1. Week 2 will have you experimenting with some cool variations to your tree - I can’t wait until you see some of these! For week 3 you’ll need to bring a friend/brother/sister/cousin for the pear tree…very relaxing. Finally, in week 4 we’ll look at any assists we can use when we feel we can’t quite make the pose.

May - Downward Facing Dog

Downward Facing Dog is one of the most commonly used poses in Yoga. We use it in it’s own right, but also as a restorative pose when moving between two or more other poses. Achieving a good Downward Facing Dog, when your heels finally touch the ground, brings a real sense of satisfaction. This month we will be taking this pose apart with our fundamentals in week1, innovations in week 2, fun partner poses (with some flying) in week 3, and modifications in week 4. Come and join in the fun!
